Owner of Madison Log Rolling, Shana has been involved in log rolling since 1987. She holds many amateur, semi-professional, and professional log rolling titles, and is a four-time log rolling and two-time boom running WORLD champion. She is a Great Outdoor Games and ESPN STIHL Timbersports Series Gold Medalist. Emmaray Einstein
Emmaray has been rolling with MLR since 2007 and coaching since 2011. She has competed in both the amateur and professional ranks, but her favorite part about the sport is the supportive and eccentric community it has introduced her to. Emmaray spent the last three years living abroad both working and adventuring. She is excited to return to Madison and spend countless hours at Lake Wingra.
Amy James
In recent years Amy has worked as an equine vet assistant with Irongate Equine and in the UW Emergency Room as an ER technician. She advises the Polo Club of UW- Madison and spends most of her free time hanging out with the horses. She is hoping to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. While applying for school, Amy and her partner are traveling the country in a van, seeing all they can, and checking off national parks. She has been log rolling since 2004 and teaching since 2011. Amy is currently competing in both log rolling and boom running in the professional ranks. The wonderful people and great sportsmanship associated with this sport is why she loves it so much. Amy can't wait to get this season started and work with all the wonderful Madison Log Rolling Students! Splish, splash :)
Peter Verstegen
Although fairly new to lumberjack sports (he competed in his first contest in the Summer of 2011) Peter is a veteran coach and fitness professional. A certified lifeguard and swim instructor, Peter has worked with children and adults in the sports of diving and swimming at the Middleton Pool and Supreme Health and Fitness. Athletically he is an experienced diver and 2-time Ironman Wisconsin finisher. Professionally he is a personal trainer and massage therapist at Supreme Health and Fitness in Madison.
Amber Scarborough
Amber has been log rolling since 1999 and teaching since 2007. She recently completed a Master's degree in Comparative Literature at UIUC and will be moving back to her hometown of Madison this July. She cannot wait for summers at Lake Wingra and introducing people to her favorite past time!
Ceili Cordero
Ceili Cordero has been log rolling at Lake Wingra for 14 years, and continues to be grateful to be a part of the Madison Log rolling community. Currently studying Music and Health and Performance at Berklee College of Music, she enjoys being active, art, and boogying to live music!
Jackie Steinhauer
Jackie began log rolling in 2004 after attending the ESPN Great Outdoor Games held in Madison, WI. She was quickly hooked and stuck around, eventually transitioning from student to teacher. Off the log, she is a mother of one, audiobook narrator, and yoga instructor.
Lexi Anderson
Lexi Anderson has been log rolling at Lake Wingra since 2016 as an amateur log roller. As of 2023, she will be competing in the women’s professional division. She is currently studying Radiography as a returning student at Madison College. In her downtime she enjoys many outdoor activities, traveling, and spending quality time with family. While sharing her love and passion for the sport, she is eager to help beginner and returning logrollers build there skills and confidence!
Gretchen Greene
Gretchen began log rolling at Lake Wingra in 2005 and started coaching in 2010. She always loved amateur competitions and began competing professionally in 2010, capturing the 2013 log rolling WORLD title! Currently a medical student at Northwestern, Gretchen is excited to be back in Madison for the summer!
Olivia Judd
Olivia has been log rolling since 1998 and teaching with Madison Log Rolling since its inception in 2010. She has appeared in the ESPN Great Outdoor Games and the Stihl Timbersports Series. When not at the lake, she can be found working remotely for a Chicago-based nonprofit and looking for any excuse to spend time outdoors.
