Madison Log Rolling's amazing staff.
Emmaray Einstein
Emmaray has been rolling with MLR since 2007 and coaching since 2011. She has competed in both the amateur and professional ranks, but her favorite part about the sport is the supportive and eccentric community it has introduced her to. Emmaray spent the last three years living abroad both working and adventuring. She is excited to return to Madison and spend countless hours at Lake Wingra.
Carly Hass
Carly's got a whole list of things that keep her busy and smiling: soccer, figure skating, ultimate frisbee, learning Spanish and Japanese, math and coding clubs, gaming, art, anime, drumming, friends, and family. Log rolling is right at the top! She's been a part of the Madison Log Rolling family since June 2021, and is so excited to share her love of the sport!
Peter Verstegen
Although fairly new to lumberjack sports (he competed in his first contest in the Summer of 2011) Peter is a veteran coach and fitness professional. A certified lifeguard and swim instructor, Peter has worked with children and adults in the sports of diving and swimming at the Middleton Pool and Supreme Health and Fitness. Athletically he is an experienced diver and 2-time Ironman Wisconsin finisher. Professionally he is a personal trainer and massage therapist at Supreme Health and Fitness in Madison.
Amber Scarborough
Amber is a Madison native and has been log rolling since 1999 and teaching since 2007. She is a recent graduate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she received her MA in Comparative Literature. Besides living at the lake, Amber loves to read, watch films, and hang out with her two cats Dasha and Khadija. She cannot wait for summers at Lake Wingra and introducing people to her favorite past time!
Jackie Steinhauer
Jackie began log rolling in 2004 after attending the ESPN Great Outdoor Games held in Madison, WI. She was quickly hooked and stuck around, eventually transitioning from student to teacher. Off the log, she is a mother of one, audiobook narrator, and yoga instructor.
Sam Polentini
Sam is from Hartland, WI and has been log rolling for 14 years, with 4 of those years being a professional. He's also a student at UW-Madison studying Actuarial Science and Math hoping to graduate next Spring. Outside of the pond (and the classroom), Sam enjoys playing volleyball, doing crosswords, and playing cards.
William Zweifel
William enjoys playing the violin and programming. He plans to keep himself busy over the summer by participating in Dane county fair, helping his grandpa mow 12 acres around his farm, and learning to drive a stick shift jeep he calls, Nacho. His demeanor is calm, and his work ethic is unmatched. He is excited to share his passion for Log Rolling with everyone.
